Isle of Mull Mull is one the largest island of the Hebrides.In shape it is extremely irregular and its coast – line is so much indented that it measures around 250 miles in circumference while the longest walk in a beeline across the island would be just 30 miles and the shortest only 3. The southern and eastern part is mountainous , the peaks varying from 1,500 to over 3,000 feet in height. The northern portion of the island is hilly, but no eminence attains an elevation of 1.500 feet. Tobermory 'the Well of Mary' is the chief town in the island of Mull. Founded in 1788 by the Society for the Encouragement of the British Fisheries it has not realized the hopes of its founders by becoming an important fishing station. It stand on the shore of a bay which affords safe and spacious anchorage and is protected by the small island of Calve , much as Oban is by Kerrera. On weekdays it is connected with Mingarry in Ardnamurchan.

The main link is from Oban, where guests can catch the ferry and enjoy the trip, arriving at Mull relaxed, refreshed and ready to enjoy their stay, and there is plenty of excellent accommodation in Mull. There are ferry links from Oban to Craignure, and also a ferry from Kilchan to Tobermory, and there is a further ferry crossing from Lochaline. It is recommended that you book the ferry in advance, as you are required to be in the port around forty minutes prior to the ferry’s departure. The Lochaline crossing is probably the cheapest option and most of the local people usually use this service. There are other ferries from Mull which travel to the other islands nearby; their departure times vary during the seasons and extreme weather.
Tobermory is the main town of the Isle of Mull, and has lovely colourful buildings along the sea front. The beauty of the town and the lovely accommodation available make it well worth staying in Tobermory, as it is a great place to relax. There are many superb restaurants, shops, and cafés, and you can also take boat trips to see the whales and dolphins that play in the sea around Mull. Craignure is well worth day trip and also has a range of excellent accommodation. There are lovely walks around the area, and you could visit the castles of Duart and Torrosay.
In Mull you can enjoy spectacular views of the rocky hills, high mountain peaks, tumbling burns, spectacular waterfalls and rich wildlife. All this, combined with the local history, excellent accommodation and wonderful atmosphere means that you will experience a wonderful holiday. Mull is a great place for participating in many sports, but is also a haven for relaxation, so you can truly escape from the pressure of everyday life.

It was originally a stable block dating from 150 years ago, but has been lovingly renovated and restored to provide comfortable self-catering accommodation. The cottage has views of Loch Pottie, and you can walk to the Iona ferry and the village in around ten minutes. All bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are included in the rental charge.
